Lake Mburo National Park is found in western Uganda, at approximately 240 kilometers west of Kampala (Uganda’s Capital City) and extends for an area of 370 square kilometers making it the smallest savannah National Park in the country. Detailed itinerary of the 2 days Lake Mburo Tour
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park.
To beat the morning traffic jam of Kampala, your journey will be expected to start early and thus wake up early and have breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala. You will be picked up by our company representative at 7:00am to begin the 3-4 hours’ journey to the whispers of the wild with your first stopover being at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe where you will get the chance to stand on two hemispheres at the same time. Isn’t it amazing?

While here, you will experiment several Equator procedures that include standing on the Equator where you will surprisingly discover that you weigh less than your usual weight as well as observing how water drains on different directions when placed on either the southern or northern hemisphere. You journey continues and involves transversing various western Uganda towns and branch via Lyantonde Town to Lake Mburo though the Nshara Gate. Drive slowly through the Park to the Safari Lodge and spot some of the unique wildlife species especially buffaloes, impalas, waterbucks, elands, Topis, Rothschild giraffes and warthogs.

Check in the Lodge and freshen up before proceeding to the Lakeside restaurant for a delicious meal comprising of locally caught fish and other international as well as local dishes of your choice. After this sumptuous meal, hop into the waiting boat for an afternoon boat cruise where you will find the hippos and crocodiles relaxing at the shores of Lake Mburo in addition to the antelopes and buffaloes drinking water. This boat cruise also rewards tourists with the views of the aquatic bird species such as African fish eagles, pelicans and kingfishers among others.

The boat cruise also leads you to the fishing village where you will learn about different procedures of harvesting and preserving fish. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and return to Kampala
Arise and shine to the whispers of the wild for your early morning breakfast so as to begin the game drive at 6:00 or 6:30am. This allows you to chance to nocturnal mammals such as spotted hyenas and the elusive leopards as they are still hunting. Also, expect to spot the impalas, Defassa waterbucks, elands, buffaloes, zebras and many others. After this 4 hours’ activity, you will return to the Lodge for a snack and to freshen up before departing to Kampala. There will be a stopover at Mpambire Drum makers and Masaka for lunch before arriving Kampala in late afternoon or evening.
